Tell Your Story

Tell your story

February 6, 2018

Everyone should know the quote from Maya Angelou, “There’s no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Yet, some of us are still afraid to let it out. Gaslighting, shaming, diminishing of our voices… these are some of the tools people use to keep us quiet. Some even like to pretend we aren’t even here. #BeingBlackAndMuslim *Along with this quote, I’ll say there’s an agony in opening the cage and letting our voices fly freely. The fear of being judged, dismissed, ridiculed, and even called a liar. As if our experiences are untrue because they didn’t witness it, or it didn’t happen to them. Know that I feel you. I am with you. I created this brand as a way to open the cages, and to let our hearts fly free. Tell your stories, the good, the bad, and especially the ugly. We ARE here. We have experiences to share. Our hearts deserve to feel free, and joy can be found in sharing even your worst experiences, because someone will sit and listen and say, #MeToo.💜 #BlackMuslimGirlFly
